There’s no need to ever leave Treworgey…

Treworgey’s heated outdoor swimming pool is definitely a popular feature, whatever the weather! Everybody enjoys spending hours in or lounging around the poolside. The tennis court is available for matches at all times, simply ask for equipment if not found easily in the games room. If you prefer a slightly more sedate form of exercise Treworgey Estate spans over 115 acres, so you have a generous amount of space to walk around and explore along the footpaths and/or through the woods. Your canine companion will love the grounds, however please note that dogs need to be kept on their leads through the parkland as there are sheep grazing, and as always please be considerate of others and remember to pick up any ‘deposits’.

Heated Swimming Pool

The pool is salt water, heated from May to September and open from sun-up to sundown. It is 1.5 meters (5 ft) at its deepest end, and 1.1 meters (3ft 6in) at its shallow end. There is no diving allowed, as the pool is an unguarded pool so swimming is entirely at your own risk. This area is a lovely sheltered sun-trap, so parents can comfortably enjoy poolside relaxation and soak up the surroundings whilst keeping an eye on the children.

All-Weather Tennis Court

Our all-weather hard tennis court is situated within a minute’s walk from all the properties, so no excuses! Tennis racquets and balls can be borrowed from the games room, please just remember to return all equipment. Also ensure you bring some suitable footwear.

Boule Pit

Boules or Pétanque isn’t played as widely in the UK as in other countries, however due to the simplicity of the rules it has wide appeal to all ages. Simply throw a small target ball and then either individually or in teams attempt to roll or throw your ball closest to the target. What is great is how younger children are usually more accurate than the parents. Good clean competitive fun.

Games Room

The games room is situated directly opposite the 3 courtyard properties: Deer Park, Middle Barn and Paddock view, and only a few extra paces from the Coach house, so all very safe and secure. Inside there’s a pool table and video arcade game, as well as croquet sets and tennis racquets and balls for all guests to enjoy.

Beautiful Grounds

We are blessed at Treworgey Manor with stunning surroundings, established trees, developed and flourishing over the past 400 years. So as you can imagine there is a wealth of variety when it comes to exploring flora and fauna. The mix of pasture and woodland change colour seasonally and provide the perfect setting guaranteeing seclusion for each property.

Wildlife & Fauna

The less extreme temperatures of the Southwest means that we usually enjoy spring earlier than other parts of England, snowdrops and daffodils are out in January and other impressive flora follows close behind by half term in February. Local wildlife include: deer, foxes, badgers, bats and the occasional hedgehog! You are more than likely to spot a pheasant or two strolling around the estate, don’t worry they are friendly creatures!
